floral invasion and refashion

Are you getting enough of florals? My wardrobe has been invaded by florals lately. I thrifted a pair of vintage floral cropped pants last week, kind of like the print but don't find it cute on me. So I took out the scissors and cut away the dowdiness.

 Anna Molinari Top (hand-me-down)
thrifted vintage cropped pants ($4, shortened, SOSN)
Kate Spade bag (gift)
thrifted shoes ($6, SOSN)
bangles ($2, Cotton on)
belt (gift)

I seem to like red a lot

are you thinking of floral shorts for summer?

Special thanks to Maiken for honoring me the Awesome blogger award! She lives in Estonia, a beautiful country,  check out her blog for some amazing style and photography!

Thank you for dropping by!

  1. Super pretty Mongs! They look so much cuter after you cut them a bit! The length is perfect on you now! I like that they are a darker color too, not a super bright floral. I'm still not 100% certain on the floral trend for myself, but we'll see!

  8. Wonderful job on those shorts! I love that the dominant color is navy blue - this seems to make them easier to pair with a variety of tops. :)
Hmm, floral is not something I've liked before, but I'm slowly warming up to it. :)

  18. I love that you cut off the pants and it instantly looks so modern and it fits better on you. That's a great idea though just chopping off pants that fit right on the top section and making them into shorts. I'll see if I can get into the floral obsession...

  19. Another fantastic DIY! I love how you shortened the shorts...those 'clam diggers?' definitely were overwhelming and dated so this is a great new look. I also love the red bag!

  31. Making the pants shorter is a good idea , specially for summer and it is also looking more fashionable. The addition of those fabulous looking glasses and the red bag has given a sophisticated look to the whole outfit.
Mongs, I believe that this refashioning is a cool idea, you are looking very chic in casuals.

  37. Would have to agree that the initial length is neither here nor there..I would say this is more of a tropical print that floral since the flowers are huge and lovely! Definitely a score!
