Yesterday, I checked my email and saw this note from a lady from Wichita, Kansas. She was so encouraging and sweet, I was touched to tears by her words, if you are reading this Starwhite, I just want to say thank you again! Thanks to all of you who have been dropping by my blog with such lovely words, I really appreciate them a lot, it keeps me blogging. The best part about blogging is the beautiful connections that I made with people from all over the world. Of course the number of followers do make me happy, but being able to connect with people makes blogging even more meaningful!
I also want to thank all the friends who have been blessing me with clothes, thank you ladies, you are fabulous! I can't explain this blessing from God, it's just so amazing. And my blog was God inspired and started because of these second hand clothes. You can read about it here if you like.
Now back to inspiration monday! Two birds chose an outfit from Carrie Underwood. I love her songs and her style, she is so beautiful in every way. Here's my interpretation of her look:
polka dot top (hand-me-down)
thrifted Levi's jeans ($8, Salvation Army)
thrifted Nine West shoes ($3, High Point)
thrifted clutch ($8, Salvation Army)
M)phosis cuff ($2, sale)
I thrifted these Nine West shoes last week, I like the zebra stripes so much!
these sequins and polka dots are really cute!
inspired by Carrie Underwood

what an awesome job you did with this outfit, Mongs! i LOVE that top and those thrifted zebra print shoes are lovely. you look amazing as always. how nice that other bloggers have been encouraging you. i'd love to send you some clothes sometime if you'd like!!!

Thanks Claire!
Deletehey! I hope your week has started nicely :)
ReplyDeletefirstly, I love the harmony between that bracelet and your zebra pattern shoes. and your asymmetrical top is really cool. I love asymmetrical pieces. those sequinned dots are the coolest btw. and the bright clutch spices up all the neutral shades so well!
btw, I wanted to thank you for all the wonderful comments and I'm so glad I discovered your blog. it's definitely one of my favourites in the whole blog world.
ps. I hope everything's okay with the package, hehe, and I still want to return you something from my side of the world ;)
Maiken,

Thank you so much Maiken! You are such a wonderful blogger friend. My address is on the package :-)
DeleteLove your outfit, great polka dot top :)
ReplyDeleteMongs, as always I love your outfit :) Really like your polka dot top :)
ReplyDeleteThe one thing I love about your blog is how cool you always look. No matter what you're wearing, it's something you rock and make it look awesome. It's fantastic that even with a limited budget you still look stylish, put together, and classy in every post. Your blog inspires me in so many ways and I'm glad you are getting nice emails and clothes :) People can look at an item of clothing and not know how to wear it or what to do with it, but you make it work for you - if it doesn't work you'll alter it until it does. I think that's an amazing talent that you have, and means I always look forward to your blog posts.
I guess my overly long message can be summed up in one sentence - thank you for blogging :)
Thank you so much Mica! You are so kind!
DeleteI couldn't agree more with Mica, I really look forward to your blog posts :)
DeleteHonestly, you always look so amazing for so little money spent. How do you do it? How much time do you spend thrifting? A perfect example that you don't need money to have impeccable style! Would you like to be profiled on my site. If yes, then just send me an email and I will send you a list of questions.
ReplyDeleteThank you too for your amazing blog, and outfits.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes your are right, I have a loooong loooooonng legs, it's at the same time and advantage and an inconvenient when i try o buy a jeans or a pants :/ And I can't wear all the time heels :'( :'( and mini skirt are really really mini on me! hihiii

ReplyDeleteGreat outfit. I would love to have those shoes.
ReplyDeleteI really look forward to every post of yours, you have an eye for pieces and a good sense of style. I love the top but I was especially drawn to the chevron cuff and shoes. Great find, wonderfully put together. And great that you have formed friendships all over the world through blogging.
ReplyDeletemongs you never cease to amaze me with your styling skills, & kindness! what great shoes, & the top is stellar too. you look ready for a night on the town. :)
ReplyDeleteOoh that is a fun top! This might be my new favorite outfit of yours, I think I'd just look frumpy in a top like that but you look sleek and chic! And I adore those shoes!! I agree that the connections made are what keeps me blogging too, it's such a wonderful online community!
ReplyDeleteI agree - the friendships made through blogging are the best part, for certain. You did a beautiful inspired job with Carrie's look - such a gorgeous blouse : >

Your outfits look like a million bucks and then I read the prices and they are amazing. I want those shoes but they'd have to be about four times as big to fit on my feet. Think I'll go look on eBay for zebra stripes. Bye!
ReplyDeleteYour interpretation was soooo much better than mine!!! You look very pretty and the cute detail on this is really nice! Thanks for your kind comment earlier. So nice to be described as a candy-shop!!! I feel the same when I look at your blog!!!
ReplyDeleteand I love the post you wrote about when you started blogging. The Lord really does provide. I've found that time and time again. I remember many occasions where he has compelled me to give even when I was not sure I could afford it and then he blessed me almost immediately with more than I started with!
ReplyDeleteThose prints are really cute. I like the big polka dots!

Have a nice day !

ReplyDeleteStriped shoes and a polka dot skirt! Awesome. I think I like your version better than Carrie's. It's a very cute look on you.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love that outfit. You blew Carrie Underwood right out of the water. Totally.
ReplyDeleteLovely outfit. I really like how you worked in different patterns, yet this is a very clean and simple look. :) How wonderful to hear that you are connecting with people from around the world! :)

The total look is great. I follow a blog of a lady who was putting together her Kentucky Derby outfit and wild be spending upwards of $25,000. Your skill could have saved her several thousand, I'm thinking.
ReplyDeleteI am sure you are tired of reading my comments! Each week I tell you that this is the best outfit ever. You really have an eye for finding good thrift store items. Tell us how you do it. DO you only buy one outfit each time you go? I would like to buy more thrift items - because they cost less and recycling is good for the environment - but, I am overwhelmed when I get to the second hand shops. How do I start?
ReplyDeleteThe artsy dotted Tee is great Mongs! I love it with the zebra flats so
ReplyDeletemuch! xx Enjoy your werk dear!
Mongs! I am coming over to your house for some fashion and style lessons--seriously. This outfit is darling.
ReplyDeleteI like your outfit better!! Seriously. Plus, everything is thrifted - costs a fraction of Carrie Underwood's outfit..ok maybe even just her shoe!! What's better than that?!

I like your version much better than Carrie Underwood's as well. It's much more playful, yet polished. I never would have thought to mix the polka dots with the stripes of a zebra.
