dear friends, what have you been up to lately?
I did a refashion of a hand-me-down dress from my friend Linda. She is moving to Taipei, so she saved a big bag of her clothes for me.
do you see beauty in ruins?
Bershka dress (hand-me-down, refashioned)
thrifted H&M jeans ($3.50, Salvation Army sale)
Charles and Keith shoes ($14.90, sale)
Mphosis cuff ($2, sale)
Mphosis necklace ($5, sale)
this house looks like a place for kidnappers, kind of creepy...yet beautiful because of the ruins
does pillar and ropes ring a bell?
I love your DIY top, that's a fantastic result the top looks great, I prefer it as a top instead of a dress.
ReplyDeleteYour photo location is beautiful too - old ruins fascinate me! I found a ruined house the other day when exploring with Cooper but I was too scared to go investigate.
That top looks great on you. Do you mean all you did was cut it and nothing else? Wow. I guess even I could do that. hehehe
ReplyDeleteGreat and easy solution!! I love the end outfit so edgy...the shoes are amazing.

It is a great refashioning Mongs !
ReplyDeleteYou are truly inspiring me to do something similar, because you completely changed the shabby looking outfit into something chic. Full marks for wearing a red pant -it added more substance to the dull colored top. The accessories are very fashionable and modern.
You said that you did not sew the dress-So, now I am getting some ideas from you-I can cut any jersey dress and refashion them without sewing !
Have a lovely day !
mongs, i definitely see beauty in ruins! you look beyond outstanding, in your refashioned, reminds me of flashdance the movie, but better looks so current & cool top. these photos of you are effervescent. :)
ReplyDeleteNo sew is the best! Once again you've seen how you can tweak something and make it so much better. Thanks for linking up another great refashion x
ReplyDeleteThat's very cool! I love refashioning things. Unfortunately I have a whole pile of clothes that I have big dreams for and just have never gotten around to. This looks great and jersey fabric is sooo comfy!
ReplyDeleteI love this refashion. And your outfit has the right amount of edge to it- something I would totally recreate.

ReplyDeleteThis looks so cute on you! I really like the result, it's awesome. And it looks awesome with the red pants.
ReplyDeleteI think there is beauty in ruins - we have a museum here in MN that is built around an old building that burned down and they left some of the ruins and I think it's a neat place to explore.
Fantastic! I love these photos and love what you did to that dress. Nice work!

ReplyDeleteI love this!!! Asymetrical top with the red jeans? You look fantastic...now your friend will want that shirt...forget the dress lol!
ReplyDeleteLook at you! Nicely done and good tip on the jersey. I think even I could do that. : )

i don't think that anyone else can make a drap grey dress or top look that fab as you did, the addition of the necklace, bracelet and hot pink pants really brings out the best of this top. love the shoes as wellthis is so edgy and funky at the same time.

The original dress is...so weird, so odd. You've have to be a VERY strange shape for it to suit you. Anyways, the top is a massive improvement and really suits your slightly edgy outfit. Great photo setting!
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to have found your blog - I love your sense of style! I'm also a Christian and a SAHM, and I'm in the midst of trying to reinvent/discover my personal sense of style. My body type is very different from yours, but I'm getting lots of inspiration from the way you put colours together and the way you accessorize. Looking forward to following your blog!
